On the phone:
Mai: You’re home? I didn’t think you’d be home.
Me: Then why did you call?
Mai: In case you still were (at home).
Me: So I’m here. What do you want?
Mai: What’s the rush?
Me: I was about to leave.
Mai: So you are going?
Me: That’s what I said, isn’t it?
Mai: Well you don’t have to yell at me!
And then she hung-up. Really.
I still don’t know why she called.
I stepped out of the bathroom this morning only to let out a girly scream when there was this big boom of thunder.
But that wasn’t too surprising. What was surprising was the sound of Mai’s voice right next to me, “Its just thunder.”
“Ahhhhhhh!” My second girly scream in less than two minutes.
“I let myself in,” she supplied.
If I survive to 30, I’ll be surprised.
