Cartoon!Crack

I have never been a fan of card game shows. Yu-gi-oh bores me. :) However, I just sat through an episode of Duel Masters and I must say: Ha! That stuff is cartoon!crack. Pointless, yes, but strangely (campy) funny.

~*~*~*~*~*~

In honor of Halloween, a coworker gave me five small white chocolate Reece’s peanut butter cups. Arriving home this afternoon, I lined all five along the living room windowsill, planning on eating them during Naruto/Adult Swim, before heading upstairs for a long soak in the tub.

By the time I came back downstairs, there were only two peanut butter cups still awaiting my consumption and a trail of wrappers heading towards the kitchen.

George Eliot was polishing off the third cup as I walked in on her and her accomplice.

So it goes.

I hope that I don’t end up nursing sick kitties tonight. It would be a shame to have to miss Naruto again. (Note the lack of sympathy displayed when it is my candy that is stolen).

If yours get sick, then everybody's got ill kitties.... [info]nekojita's isn't doing well.

But GE and um... Kikumaru? should be okay. There's actually no chocolate in white chocolate. For dogs... "It takes 250 pounds of white chocolate to cause signs of poisoning in a 20-pound dog, 125 pounds for a 10-pound dog." (Link: "Chocolate and Dog Poisoning" It has interesting, detailed info on theobromine contained in various types of chocolate.)

Unless sugary peanut butter is somehow dangerous in and of itself, three white-chocolate peanut butter cups shouldn't hurt them too much.

How are they? (The measly two you were left to taste?) ... I've not tried the gimick candy yet. Does it taste similar? White chocolate is usually sweeter than milk... And Reese's cups are already pretty sweet. If anything, I'd think they should go darker... but dark chocolate is usually more expensive and most of the U.S. prefers milk. Heathens.

Yeah, I really wasn't particularly worried. I worked a stint at poison control once (1-800-222-1222!) that spanned valentine's and easter. Three things I really learned: (1) chocolate isn't an issue in animals unless its really, really dark and they are really, really small, (2) babies think kitty litter boxes are buffet tables (and that it really isn't so bad for them) and (3) all the really scary things in this world happen after 3 am. :)

Oh, and people can be really, really stupid. But then, I may have known that before hand. :p

As to the candies themselves...they were okay. I like peanut butter cups enough but if I am going to eat something chocolaty I prefer plain chocolate, and yeah, I am a darker is better kind of person (85% plus). :) That was most of the reason why she insisted I try them. Yes. They were very sweet but then I've gorged on cadbury eggs so I survived. Hehehe. Overall opinion: okay, but not better than the original idea.

They do have a dark chocolate peanut butter cup that I’ve seen, but never actually tried. *shrugs* That may be the best yet, but dunno. :P
